Very young. Still showing great acidity. Still front and centre which makes me plan to hold onto my remaining bottles for another couple of years. Fairly muted on the nose but might be due to stem wear. Crisp Apple on the palate with sort of Cucumber. So clean and precise. Saline, limestone. Minerals. Citrus. This has it all. Balance, poise, depth, complexity. Super long finish. Lasted 60+ seconds.

blind CL, generally, in 2013 is a benchmark. This wine reminds me to a d'Auvenay. Reductive, roasted popcorn, creamy and dense. Powerful and balanced likewise. Love it 97-98

It's sad to bid farewell to a formally great wine. Perhaps it's just this bottle but I purchased in on release and there were no signs of oxidation or TCA. Nevertheless, despite a lovely burst of fruit when first opened, it rapidly became clear that although not terminal, the wine was fading. Almost no aroma. The fruit had turned waxy and broad even though the acidity was decent. Meager finish. The texture was the best part; round and luscious. Drinkable for sure but we did not finish the bottle. Perhaps the gentle 2011 vintage was not destined to go decades.

Very nice bouquet….the flavors are bright lemon and grapefruit, and a saline finish. All of those characteristics can add up to something special but the vintage’s leanness is present throughout and tempers the end result. 11 is better for whites than reds, but very few producers created real magic (D’Auvenay, Raveneau, who else??)

At Annabelle, with Françoise and Pierre. Paired nicely with halibut- and later, yes, with my New York strip steak.
