Cracking the whip; 10/16/2023-10/23/2023 (Eagan, MN): N: Aromas of longans if they were golden in flesh when ripened. Juicy, ripe cantaloupe without being oversweet. Scents of tall stalks of dried grass and a light and airy caramel note.
P: Fruits match the nose completely. A subtle hint of honey, gently bitter wax, minerals and dried, spiced hay that lingers into the finish. The airy caramel note is showing here as well (as if it was gently torched, gracing the flavors with a hint of a burnt top). Still a good sense of freshness and a juiciness that is starting to show that it may have a hard time clinging on soon.

Wine-a-palooza (Jason's house): Pop and pour from a magnum, drank a good-sized glass over 45 minutes. I was concerned due to the vintage, but this performed at my expectation level for an Aubert Lauren. There is a lot going on, supple and yet vibrant, green apple. The wood started to come out as I finished the glass, which made me think that you probably shouldn't hold any longer.

NYWE 2022: Nice light yellow color, buttery wood spice aromas. Good depth and nice tasty apple flavors. Quite notable for creamy texture with good lift. Very good, especially for the age. Would drink up as seemingly not improving.
Tough vintage for many cold, wet late vintage with some Botritus. Aubert did unusually well. Good acidity helped ageablity.

Wine Palooza (Eagan, MN): Very nice bottle featuring candied fruits, apple, orange peal, mild oak and minerals. For sure in its prime and drink now.

A bit darker color. The nose was muted at the beginning but then opens up and had a lot of length Drink.
