IPNC Weekend 2023; 7/26/2023-7/31/2023: Dark red color, I think - hard to tell in the moon light. Drank a couple glasses by fire light on Cannon Beach. What a glorious evening sitting with friends around the beach bonfire. This hit the spot perfectly in the crisp evening air. Better than anything through the IPNC weekend. A stellar wine drinking at the best it has in recent years. The nose is deep and sappy, with red and black berries, damp forest floor, exotic spice notes and floral potpourri overtones. The palate exudes everything the nose brings, earthy, layered berries with underlying mineral tones and impressive texture and length. Pretty sublime...well done Mr. V. This can go for awhile.

Luis Does Tilia (Tilia, Mpls): Medium dark red color. PNP, drank a glass over 2 hours. This started a bit slow, but really built over an hour. Deeply woodsy and spiced on the nose and palate, darker fruits on the nose; the palate is medium full bodied, satiny, deep red berries with a splash of boysenberry, earth and spice. The finish is a bit sharp at first, but evens out well ovr time.

Back at TIlia with Luis' group: Consistest with previous bottles and ROCKNROLLER's note from 10/2/2021. Light cherry, lots of earth, acid, tar, smoky, probably on the upside.

Robert's Get-Together at Margaux's Table: PnP - A very nice pinot that was better on its own than with food. Lots of cherry fruit and very indicative of 2012. Nice fruit, well rounded, no heat and some earthiness and spice. This has the stuffing to gain more tertiary components (and enhance those already present), but I don't know that I would want to sacrifice the fruit for the potential gain. Depending on your palate and willingness to gamble, I would say drink sooner than later (next year or two) to enjoy the 2012 purity of fruit; or gamble that the fruit will remain mostly in tact and get more tertiary components (3 to 5 years) IMO. 92 today....may or may not improve, but will certainly hold for a while longer, so no hurry.
