Found two bottles of this in the lower rack of one of my wine coolers. I had forgotten about them and thought they might have turned. Not only had they not turned, but they were amazing. Tons of dark fruit and soft spices. Smooth tannins and just the right old wine flavor. The finish was long and extremely pleasant. I don’t remember the earlier bottles being this good. These were the last two of a case. Both bottles had been properly stored and the corks were perfect.

Good for the buzz. Alcohol is listed at 14.6 but I would say it is 15+%. No real structure because of the high alcohol. Will this be a trend for the newer high alcohol wines Not aging or will CA wineries go back to lower alcohol so that their wines will age.

Medium red, garnet-edged. Aromas of cedar, leather, cherry, chaparral vegetation, and bbq smoke. On entry, low levels of fine tannin persist, with slightly elevated acidity; becomes more balanced towards delicacy with air. Vivid and rich in the mouth, with the best features being the interplay of fruity, herbal and meaty elements which evolve with time in the glass. In great shape. Bottle #6 of six.

Mature with all kinds of secondary flavors of spice, herb and dried leafs. Good balance and a nice representation of a well made zin. I have no idea how long this can age but suspect it will continue to show unique characteristics for a while to come. Geek wine for those who like old ridge wines.
