This bottle was purchased on WineBid in Napa not far from where the wine was produced, so I was surprised to find an import sticker on the back. I wonder if this wine made its way across the pond and back (???). PnP. This wine is in a great place right now. The nose was much more oxidative than I would expect, possibly a function of having been shipped/imported. Tertiary notes of wet leaves and forest floor take center stage, with a backdrop of plum and blackberries and a hint of pepper and spices. The palate exhibits a lot of dark fruit, which gives way to silky integrated tannins and a long spicy finish. This wine can continue to age another 10-20 years or more (if stored properly), but drinking wonderfully now. With some air, the fruit on the palate moderated and the same tertiary notes from the nose became more intense.

Bu au resto AVV La Fringale à Granby, pour le diner avec la salade de canard confit. Faisait définitivement Bordelais au nez et en bouche. Terre et cuir avec du graphite. Cerise et chcocolat avec de beaux tannins bien enrobés. Finale longue. Excellent.

Fullish nose. Developed and very fruity. Dense black currant, integrated oak, herbs and chocolate. Fullish, rich palate. Sweet fruit reveals NW origin. But with good backbone and structure. Cassis, liquorice and coconut. Harmonius and long. Ready.

Very good wine, slightly more ordinary than most of the fawning tasting notes would indicate.

Assemblage bordelais est sans reproche. Frais, équilibré, belle finale. Dommage que cette cuvée ait connue une flambée de son prix
