  • I found this to be over the hill and some way from the top already. Dissapointing...

  • Wow! Great, but still seems young. Very creamy, slight yeast, lots of citrus. lime zest. Quite structured, medium acidity.

Elegant. Could have waited to open, but no regrets here.

  • A blend of 55% Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs and 45% Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims, 9 years sur lattes. Level 7cm below the (firm) cork, but the wine seems none the worse. Intense but lively lemon yellow colour, lively mousse, very fine bead; beautiful nose needs a little time to open up, complex, white flowers and lime zest, mineral depth and yeasty complexity, white truffle and candied fruit; the palate is aerien and elegant in true Henriot fashion, but with incredible mineral power, intensity and drive, tightly wound and structured, refined and subtle flavours; complete and layered finish, spices and red apple, very good length. Feels quite young still; perfect bottles should last and develop for another 10-15 years with ease.

  • Naso fungino e gessoso. Sorso equilibratissimo e di incredibile piacevolezza. Buonissimo

  • Despite a medium neck level the wine opened and persisted with a fine bead. Golden colour, very powerful nose of salted caramel and developed nutty Chardonnay. The palate is even stronger, with characters of almost burnt caramel toffee, almonds and chalk, quite developed but not over the hill. The finish has a slightly disparate intense fruit spice followed by tight acidity. A fascinating experience, many at our table loved it but a few found it almost too much! It will not benefit from longer cellaring.

(Henriot Cuvée des Enchanteleurs) The top cuvée has a smoothly integrated panoply of aromas on the nose, with notes of honey, biscuit and ash, presented in a much richer fashion than the 1998 Vintage. Polished, honeyed and biscuity, firm and integrated, harmonious with lots of depth. An elegant texture though, with a lovely, creamy edge to the finish. Every moment here is bright and yet full flavoured. Excellent wine; like the 1998, drink now or hold.
