T's 45th Birthday (Søllerød Kro): From magnum it still shows a lot of fresh acidity despite the flavors showing mushrooms and bruised apples. An impressive wine with a fine balance. Loved it!

Most Splendid Game Dinner: Served from a magnum which had been opened a couple of days before. Deep gold colour - interesting contrast with the 96 DP, which had higher highs, but this stayed consistent all the way through. Lovely match for the cheese.

Gareth's glorious game dinner (Canary Wharf): The second half of a magnum that had been opened 48 hours before and then stoppered. I wasn't paying close attention by this point, but the wine was delightful, with excellent ease and balance, plenty of energy, creamy mouthfeel, and tasty lemon curd and lemon shortbread. Plenty of time in hand, at least in magnum, based on this example.

Served blind. From mag. Iodine nose, very reminiscent of 95 dp oeno. Fantastically young and really good. Clear “oeno” effect on nose and palate.

Pop and pour. Still amazing. Richly styled, and loads of caramel and roasted nuts, but just fantastic acidity to keep things in check. In a wonderful place, and showed fantastically tonight. Fully mature, but with plenty of energy.
