After a five hour decant I get notes of blackberry, blueberry, tobacco and cedar. Tannins are high, but with a fine character. At this young age, it’s drinking well.

Surprisingly approachable, this bright, elegant & ethereal Langoa-Barton (v17, 13% ABV) - smooth-sailing through December darkness w supreme balance & freshness, although lacking a tad of ’character’ for any excess rating. Intense, darkish ruby/purple, darker core. Nose brings scents of ripe cassis, greenish notes, cherries, roasted coffee, barrel. Herby, excellently balanced medium-bodied palate, quite airy yet w fine fruit concentration, ample acidity, brambles & cassis to the point, mineral-driven, grainy & lingering dry close.

Nice classic, drinks quite well now. Nice concentration. Notes of black current, spice, graphite maybe a menthol note. Nice freshness and elegant. Great wine making.

Fruity start of berries and cassis. Later the soft tannines kick in with some vanilla after the bottle was open for some hours, the finish became much longer. Next bottles will be opened after at least 5 years.

The nose shows classy oak and dark fruits. On the palate, it is medium bodied, with tasty fruit (overpowered a bit by the oak). The tannins are smooth, and the finish is fairly quick. I didn't get a chance to decant this, but if you open one now I think it might help to give it a few hours of air. Drink 2027-37.
