Medium gold color. Split bottle over 3 hours at Meritage. Showing so well again. Earthy, oyster, caramel cream. golden apple, and toast on the nose. The palate is rich and nutty, caramel, well toasted, baked golden apple, glazed pear, lemon tart, Mandarin orange peel, Grand Marnier, and beeswax with a mildly oxidative character. Fantastic! 95+ to 96pts.

SangioFest, Volume III "It's my favourite spot" (Chicago, IL): Mature, and readily drinkable and approachable Krug. For my palate, this is in a really sweet spot, where there's just enough maturity to render this wine far more expressive. Given that this was before the Cavil transition, there's more of an outright opulence here that modern Krug doesn't quite have. Still plenty of white fruit here, but I love the intense, chewy mineral profile that this has.

Out of magnum, consistently smashing showing, out of 750, about 50% hit rate. Beware of buying a 750 off list - a bottle i had was not flawed enough to send back but hollow enough to give displeasure.

10 years after Riesling tasting - 2014 (Restaurant Brunnenstube, Beinstein): Glass: Gabriel Universal Not as fresh and racy as my last bottle, but nevertheless a beautiful Krug! Nose with fine brioche and caramel, deep and dense. On the palate classic fine and long mousseux, nice tension, classic elegance, long! Danke Robert!!!

At Home Dinner. This was a deliciously mature wine with a developed straw colour and a fresh complex nose of white peach, Nashi pear, white cherries, wild strawberries, honey and nougat. The palate is quite rich with fruit and nougat flavours leading into a developed line of caramel and honeyed cashew flavours. There was still plenty of grip and minerality providing great length to this beautiful Champagne.

(KRUG GRAND CUVEE CHAMPAGNE) #3; Gary's Favorite "Luxury" Champagne (likes better than DomP & Cristal); COLOR-golden; NOSE-aromatic explosion of fun, cinnamon, caramel, butterscotch, PROFOUND, cake batter; TASTE-lighter than most Krug's, extremely good, pear, luscious, long on the palate, great w/ caviar, not as profound as other Krug's, not a great QPR; WS-93; GV-93
