Purple and quite raw. There is a hint of the sweet earthy cherry of Barbera but this is way too young. Medium plus body. Acidity is high, tannin is low to medium, as per the variety. Medium finish, straightforward. Wait for another 5 years.

Dinner at D Cuisine (Chicago, IL): Hits all the barbera notes but doesn't do much more than that. Admittedly somewhat disappointing, especially after a splendid 2017 a few years ago. Dark fruited, rich, and dense, but it just never gets into the next gear.

There's a delicious core of luscious black cherry to this wine. It has some bitter chocolate and earthy tones too. It has good flavour intensity and a fresh line of crisp acidity. The finish is salty and persistent.

Sehr guter Barbera, elegant, kühle Frucht, nichts gekochtes, gut eingebundener Alkohol, Plastik, Ätherisch

Drunk over pizza with family, no TN.
Wonderful Barbera as usual. This was pure joy to drink, with a cooler profile than usual.
