Beppe Rinaldi's 2014 Barbera d'Alba is savory and resolved today with a heady nose of chocolate and dried herbs with just a whisper of dark cherry. The once-formidable acidity is now tamed, soft and supple texture, medium-light weight. To my palate this probably drank better a couple years ago but still brings pleasure today.

I love 13% alcohol for Barbera and find it doesn't make it less interesting flavorwise. This is lovely.

An elegant Barbera.

Drunk with pizza, no TN. At 13% alcohol this is a quite unusual Barbera, acidity driven but very enjoyable.
