Palate: Dry, medium+ acidity, medium+ chalky tannins. Medium alcohol, medium intensity, medium body. Smoke, black currant, ripe plumb, oregano, charred wood, cloves, grass, thyme. Medium finish.
This is a good quality wine. There is sufficient primary fruit, and a lot of secondary flavours, but these are not well balanced. The smoke is absolutely overwhelming in the nose and on the palate. For this to be a very good wine, it needs better balance of fruit and tertiary aromas.
Not suitable for bottle ageing; lacks the primary fruit to develop further.

Dark garnet, medium body, moderate barnyard brett is what I am able to get from the nose, nothing that telegraphs Cab Franc, just brett. Takes a bit of swishing to extract much flavor from the palate, there's some medium darker cherry and raspberry, pretty good acidity, fine, slightly chalky tannins, some light herbal pyrazines are buried in there adding astringency, and a sense of the brett, though not to the point of distraction. A bit of earthy green funk creeps in with more air. Overall, a pleasant wine, on the earthy side, but fans of Loire Cab Franc in that style should be happy.

Rose Petal (floral) and wet concrete. Forest floor and maybe some musty campfire.

Holy moly this was bretty. I honestly couldn't really appreciate the cab franc. Pretty sure we had a flaw this time around.
