Acquired on auction 2020 - Clear transparent golden core with thinning to watery gold at the rim. Healthy nose w/ moderate intensity. Honey, pears, and floral notes. Semi-sweet with tannins detected. Acidity is fair with a full body mouthfeel. Finish is long. High quality wine drinking well now, but likely opportunity to improve. Would be interesting to pair with a spicy dish.

From 375mL. Light golden, excellent color for nearly 2 decades; aromatic, orange blossom, white flowers, citrus, slight honey; palate is medium-full bodied, superb medium-plus acidity, medium 13.5% alcohol well balanced, again some floral, some orange blossom, minerals, fairly decent persistence through the midpalate; medium length finish. I last tasted this in an awkward phase about 7 years ago. It was still good, but now it is better, showing the elegance and acidity of Climens in a lighter year, still plenty complex and with good length. At early maturity but probably will age for another decade. 91-92

Very rich and floral bouquet in mouth, white peach and peer notes. The balance is thus much more on elegant flavors than sweetness, compared to previous Sauternes experiences I had. Makes it worth giving Sauternes a second chance over Alsace VT.

Yellow-orange color, candied fruit of marmalade, rind, honey, and crème brûlée. Great wine.

Dinner wine of the 1924-1961 Climens tasting.
No formal notes. Showed amazingly well. Better than 2009 and 2010
