I know I’m going to get in trouble for saying this but too much fruit. Metaculist is right- fruit, fruit and more fruit. Not jammy mind you but parallel to that in a way. I get big blue fruit, effusive and boisterous. Perhaps this needs BBQ or something smoked. I think this is exactly what zin haters hate. I wanted to try this and talked myself into thinking this would go with my ras el hanout inspired dish. Day2 showing *slightly*more balance. Zin, Paso, Pesenti— probably what it should be.

This wine opened quickly. Nose of dark fruit and cardboard. Flavors were all dark fruit, blackberry and black raspberry which was elegant! The finish was spicy and enticing with that beautiful balance of acid that kept it all going! One of the best Zins I have had lately!!
93+ and I think it will move up with a little more time. Classic Pesenti, fruit, fruit, and more fruit, perfumed, nuanced herbal and mushroom notes, finely integrated silky tannins, great acidity, lush, and smooth minerality. I hold the 2019 in pretty high regard and this one is *maybe* slightly less complex so far and pnp had a slightly harsh finish that blew off after an hour in the decanter and settled in nicely.
