  • Pnp. Dark semi-opaque garnet in colour. Funky nose of red berries that just came out of a crate, red wet mulch, some stewed plums, toasted spice, and hints of bacon. On the palate, dark red berries with peppers and spice are noted along with hints of tobacco; still has some of its grippy tannins. Medium-full bodied with a medium+ finish.

  • This was in a lovely condition at the moment! The tannins had integrated and softened, but the wine was still fruity. There were lots of aromas and flavors of ripe black fruits. As typical for Pegau, there was some funk, but not too much.

  • Im not a big CDP fan but this was drinking so well. Soft and complex with the appearance of low alcohol. Very nice indeed. Will be interesting to se where it goes from here.

  • Acquired Retail - Notes are from Coravin night prior to tasting event. - Clear semi-opaque solid garnet color at the core with little bricking at the rim. Healthy intense nose showing red fruit, smoked meats, earth, and vanilla. Would classify as still more primary vs secondary. Dry wine with good acid and moderate tannins. Palate produced chocolate, plum, and cedar. Balanced with medium+ body and long finish. High quality wine with long life ahead. Will likely improve. Hold 3-5yrs before trying again.
****After several hour decant it went more barnyard and was a bit off-putting. Could just be in an odd phase.

  • Over dinner. Quite expressive showing generous fruit, spices, notes of woodsmoke, leather, cured meat. Nicely balanced on the palate with ripe, but noticeable tannins. A touch of heat maybe towards the lingering finish, but overall really harmonious and well balanced. Drink or keep. 92-94
