  • Very deep gold color with hues of copper orange, with slight haze. Smells are butterscotch, vanilla, banana, orange peel, and floral notes. Tastes are mandarin orange, butterscotch, dill, vanilla, apple, and salty notes. Very heavy body and hedonistic.

  • lost track of the the last 4 of these , what a joy to drink , lots of butter and fruit > this was better than the wine I had 2 years ago and gives me much hope for the balance of my 1999 cali chard's> this has tuned out to be a really special vintage rating was somewhere in the 89-90 range, very good.We opened 2 bottles both were consistent with each other.

  • Last night with some app's before dinner. Very Cali and very good, most of the 1999 Cali Chard's are in good shape currently IMHO. There was a very slight richness to this ,while not too buttery .I dont see how this will get a whole lot better , so i think i will have my last bottle in the next few months.

  • 14.6% alcohol. sonoma mountain.

clean and fresh without the oakiness that can mar a chard for me. this was a good year for hobbs in the chard department. the cuvee agustina is really killer, but this wine is no slouch. lovely mango and orange rind notes. dynamite finish that is quite long.
