Quite floral nose, honeydew and white fruit, less tropical on the palate (thankfully) - nicely balanced, with the suggestion of residual sugar playing with Thai quite well.

Intensely fragrant nose of white flowers, bright stone fruits, terpene aromas, and a tropical undertone. Palate revealed similar flavors with a more vibrant zip of acidity than previous vintages. Dry, with a hint of phenolic bitterness, moderate yet lively acidity, medium to medium plus body, and ABV at 14.2%. Eclectic, yet delicious now. This is the third vintage of this wine I’ve tasted and in my opinion the most enjoyable yet.

Big, bold, and unapologetically Compagni Portis. Gewurz-lychee forward, peach and a bit of oxidative apple and muskmelon, kept from tipping over into heaviness by a boat load of salty-rocky minerals, juicy acid, and chenin-style wax-n-wool. Tons of depth, aromatic and palate complexity and a long finish. Just a bit of heat and lack of cut preventing it from being a bonafide world class white.

Tasting past its prime. Dusty and dark. I prefer younger.

A white blend of varietals I don't generally care for ... and yet I truly enjoy this wine.
