  • Colour perfect red, clear as a bell. Nose dark fruit. Taste long and typical cabernet

  • From half bottle and decanted for a good hour.
Classic well evolved claret. Earthy, cedar, light fruit. On the palate it carries the same tune, well evolved and feels like it's at peak now.mwould have liked some more fruit to be honest given the age but still a beautiful wine. 92-93

  • PNP. Cork perfect. On first opening this had a horsey bretty funk that blew off after a couple of minutes. The nose had a bell pepper note but otherwise classic Bordeaux. On the palate this had great density and depth and really this is very primary despite almost 20yrs age. Thks Kevin!

  • Bring the funk baby! I have acquired a love of GL and it's unique funkiness. This was fun to drink.

Decanted and opened up over several hours. Nice deep red/purple GL color that you've come to love. Let the intense barnyard funk blow off a bit. After a few hours the nose opens with dark cherry, plum, blueberry, hints of cedar and just the right amount of wet barnyard GL funk. Your palate is struck immediately by ripe, dark cherry and plum fruit and followed by some floral and forest floor hints. Smooth and round in the mouth the tannins are fully integrated. Wonderfully long blueberry and cassis finish.

This is ready to drink now. No more holding. Enjoy!

  • Imbibed in Provence. Deep robe, narrow rim. Leather, dark red and black fruits, graphite on nose and palate. Wonderfully St Julien, elegant with refined ripe tannins, textured and balanced acidity and fruits. Full bodied, with a satisfyingly long finish.

(Gruaud Larose) Classic nose of Gruaud funk and a supple. silky palate. Tannins were not intrusive and this was very harmonious. Not outrageously rich but drinking great now and a classic GL.
