Extremely exuberant mousse which died quickly. Light gold. Quite pleasant aroma of soft apple and cinnamon, only a hint of oxidation. Very charming on the mid palate at first; later became youthfully disjointed. A much fresher presentation than E-Os of the past. Try again in a few years; this could be interesting.

PnP'ed, literally... Lots of mousse. Fresh nose, very floral. Green apples, rounded acidity/freshness with a tinge of ginger, nary a hair out of place... with an extremely long finish. I'd say it's quite atypical of a young Egly - not alot of that oxidative note... Young, no doubt, but so good and it'll get even better with more cellar age.

semiblind with 2008 Par level. If I had to choice I would go with 2013 because it is a bit fresher and more elegant. The concentration is amazing but the finish is filigree. 99-100

If you bring this to a tasting with friends, keep an eye on this bottle. It will most definitely be the first to finish - this is a bottle that will make you fall in love with champagne all over again. Perfectly crisp and precise - the clarity you get from this zones out all background noise and you are left with what is practically a perfect bottle. I know giving a wine 100 is unorthodox but I genuinely think this is a perfect bottle.

High end Champagne 2012 vs 2013, tasted blind (Bad Ragaz): 2g dosage.Medium yellow., Rich spices, aromatically similar to the Cran but with a little more finesse. Top notch, more racy than the Le Cran next to it.
