- Garnet color. It's somewhat balanced with a medium/full body. Bright texture - Alison and I shared a bottle on the beach for the second Thursday night Twilight Dance concert series at the Santa Monica Pier. It was 80's night and The Bangles were headlining. It was a great show and the wine was great, too.
After our recent visit to the new Byron tasting room in Los Olivos, I had asked how the 04s are doing and if I should still hang onto them. The tasting manager said they weren't likely to improve and I should drink them.
The cork was mildly saturated and pleasing to smell. The wine was full-bodied with a rich explosion of lush fruit on the palate that softened as you swishes it around in your mouth. There was a slight bite on the finish, but hardly worth mentioning. This was a great wine!
I did get a massive headache later and I'm wondering if the aged sulfates had something to do with it.

Blind Wine Tasting with Riedel Vinum Extreme Glass Test: This softened amazingly with the decanting. Initially straight out of the bottle, it had a harsh metallic finish that is what I dislike extremely in a Pinot. After a few hours of decanting the finish was remarkably smoother and silky. A very light violet nose. Still not a Pinot I would buy again.

Funky, almost Burgundian earthy nose. Deeper color than I remember with slight bown edges. Cherry and light vanilla taste. Drinking extremely well. My last bottle, wish I had more.

Pinot's are hard, strong lots of flavor, this one might be good if you liked pinots, but no character (2.5)
