Nose exhibited perfume, flowers, peach, nut fruit, and custard. Palate was sharp and precise with medium stuffing which was lifted by dazzaling acid. Incredible how well this village has aged.

I paid $97.20 for this village Meursault in July of 2001. Comte Lafon was very much in demand like Claude Dugat and Dugat-Py. I wonder what the price of the 93 Rousseau Chambertin was. Clearly expressing the style of the house, butter scotch, ripe yellow fruits and ending in nice floral note coming from mineral note. Nice precisely palate, sweet, good acidity and long finish. This is a nice aged village wine that gets the complexity from bottle aging and overall relatively straightforward. Based on the recent samples of the 10s, Lafon seems to be having a renaissance.

Incredibly accessible for a Meursault. Golden color (or was it the background light). Really opens up and becomes soft and supple. Very nice considering I don't go for Meusault...thanks EM.

(Domaine des Comtes Lafon Meursault) Medium golden yellow color; appealing, mature, hazelnut, clarified butter, nose with a little botrytis; firmly textured, creamy, tart lemon, hazelnut, mineral palate with good acidity; long finish

Consistently great with nutty sensation, richness and vibrancy. Punching way above its village status.
