60% Riesling, 40% Gewürztraminer. The colour of mature sauternes or tokaji and to be honest the flavour profile. Well made though with an offputting bitter finish by day 3. This must have significant residual sugar, and is effectively a sweet wine. Fine of course if you know Burg's methods (which I do) , but for me it is one of the downsides of the "let the wine and vintage make itself" philsophy - you simply don't know what you're buying. I was expecting off-dry to medium but this goes too far for me!

(at The Modern – NYC) Glorious wine. Golden, rich looking wine with a grapy, honeyed nose that smells a bit of botrytis. Full palate, with good finishing dryness that really belies the nose. This comes together well – went beautifully with the lobster appetizer but was even better with cheese. Delicious. (92)

Store Four Cooking Demo (Store Four): This was pretty terrific. Low acidity. The nose shows petrol notes, and the fruit is really soft, like yellow apples and pears. Slightly sweet. Really nice stuff. I'd drink over the near term.

Topaz with gold appearance, Intencity of ripe apple with a little herbal aroma, Mature with good balance of high acidity and honey, Sweet palate with bitterness of finish for 5 sec.

Sweeter than expected, almost like a riesling. While not overly complex, does have a pretty decent finish. Overall, one of the best white wines I've ever had the please to drink.
