  • A bit murky on the color. Classic flavors of raspberry and cherry, with a glyceriney mouthfeel. Medium weight with a decent finish. Nice wine.

  • Tasting of '98. '01 and '02 WS Rochioli. These wines all big and ripe compared to a flight of Maume Mazi Chambertin. No question these are California vs the Burgundy and Oregon flights. They seem younger than their age. Ripe, dark fruited. Pretty good balance. Fine wine, but depends on the style that you like.

  • expecting great and only got good. Somehow this bottle was cloudy. the last review described it as opaque. definitely something went wrong but it was still good. I think I had another bottle a while back that was great and not opaque. I have 1 left, we'll see how this one comes out.

  • Auction bottle. Slow ox x 3 hours and enjoyed over 2 hour dinner.

Little evidence of age in the sl opaque ruby coloring. Moderate nose
of tart red fruit. Nice light to medium body and well balanced/integrated. No real tertiary advancement of the fruit. Medium finish.

Paired well with seared tuna with sweet and spicy relishes and black rice.

Nice for drinking now, not sure if this will ever undergo any magical transformation but definitely no need to rush to drink soon. If scoring, 91-92

  • Dark cranberry color with solid core to a clear rim.

Slightly high toned and very spicy nose of red pepper and nutmeg.

Sweet ripe raspberry fruit, bitters. Comforting finish with good acid, baked apples. Quite grippy on the end palate... has some life ahead still.
