Drunk with my brother after he had driven his hire truck through the remnants of a bushfire. He loves Coonawarra Cab, and this wine was perfect with some steaks. Last tasted 14 months ago, this wine is still going strong. Mild bricking around the rim, med depth colour to go with the med weight but loads of flavour. A perfect balance between primary and tertiary flavours, the palate was ripe, refreshing and luscious. Enough body and grip to got for another five years. "My" last bottle resides in my folks cellar... time to break-in.

I bought this in Ballina many years ago. The label was faded because the bottle was in the shop window, so I was fearing that maybe the contents had been damaged. I need not have worried. A stunning wine. Colour showed signs of age from the rim to near the core, garnet/brick. The nose was classic old Coonawarra Cab: Tea, tobacco, a hint of mint, leather and earthy black fruit. The palate was seamless. Good acid and tertiary fruit with integrated tannin = YUM! Huge length and no signs of cloying on the palate. More please!

I like my Coonawarra Cabernets and this didn't disappoint! Real classic, slightly cooler than other vintages I've tried but very enjoyable.
