  Granatrot, stark aufhellend zum Rand. In der Nase intensive und komplexe Aromen von Cassis, grüner Paprika, Sauerkirsche, Zedernholz, Caramel sowie reifen Noten erinnernd an Leder und Trüffel. Körpervoll mit kräftiger und reifer Säure sowie samtigem Tannin. Wunderbar ausgewogen am Gaumen mit harmonischer Frucht sowie langem und haftendem Ausklang. Um der vollen Intensität dieses Weines gerecht zu werden empfiehlt sich ein Bordeaux Rotwein oder Cabernet Glas bei Raumtemperatur, 17-18°C.
  
  Die Reife und kräftige Struktur dieses Cabernet Sauvignon machen ihn zum perfekten Begleiter zu Grilladen, gebratener Ente oder kräftigen Wildgerichten.
  
  Das Weingut wurde 1974 von Sydney Hamilton gegründet und nach seinem britischen Vorfahren Lord Leconfield benannt. Der Grossteil des Terra Rossa Terroirs in Coonawarra ist mit Cabernet Sauvignon Rebstöcken bepflanzt. Der erste Jahrgang dieses Weines wurde bereits 1977 abgefüllt. Zur Kelterung werden vollreife Trauben von älteren Rebstöcken während sechs Tagen in neuen Französischen Eichenfässern eingemaischt und vergoren. Der biologische Säureabbau findet dann in gebrauchten Eichenfässern statt. Die Früchte jüngerer Reben werden genau umgekehrt, erst in alten und anschliessend in neuen Eichenfässern, gelagert. Das Resultat ist ein kräftiger, vielschichtiger und langlebiger Rotwein mit weichem Tannin und Eleganz.

  Medium to intense pomegranate red with distinct aromas of black cherries, plum, eucalyptus, cinnamon as well as green bell peppers. Full bodied with a long and warming finish. Nicely balanced, hearty with a refreshing acidity as well as well woven in tannin.

  Quite a bit of capsicum on the nose. Sweet dark fruit initially, with a hint of chocolate before a hit of assertive tannin takes over and carries through, drying out any sweetness that was there initially. Pretty satisfying overall, and pretty sturdy. Feels like there is some years laft in it yet
