Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • NobleRottersSydney - 1990 & prior (Darling Mills, Glebe): Actually labelled 'Reserve' but I didn't want to create another entry for such an old wine. Mid brick red. Developed herbaceous aromas that just scream 'cabernet' (and 'Leconfield', if it comes to that. Initial taste was blind.) Classic Oz characters of chocolate and spice. initially very full on the front palate, but that's where it stayed. Fruit sweetness fades quickly and the finish is rather short - a little unbalanced. From such a highly-regarded vintage we expected a little more back-palate. Considered (by others) to be much better 2 years ago. Acceptable now.
