Kind of meh slightly above average basic wine. Tastes fine, just a bit candied or artificial. Doesn't have that cabernet feel. Maybe it will fill out with more air.
Update ... turns out that the wine has filled in a bit more after 2-3 hours of air. Nice promise here. Enjoyable.
Colour : Vibrant dark purple core with red highlights. But not inky. Aromas : Bright fresh blackberry and blackcherry. Ripe, lush plums, a touch of mint and a dash of brewed coffee. Flavours : Same as aromas. Mouthfeel : Medium bodied, dusty slightly bitter fine tannins but not overpowering. Nice balance. Medium acidity, maybe a slight bitter tanginess. Finish : Some overall bitter blackish tea, medium to short length on finish. Took a while, but air added some volume to the wine. A bit more depth and less candied in nature.

{screwcap, 14%} Bright, fairly youthful garnet. Nose of classic new world cabernet herbs, capsicum, blackcurrant, basil, some malty oak. The palate is fairly young, although fairly open and friendly. Lowish sandy tannins, medium weight, medium acid, subtle oak, fairly garden herb flavours with a blackish currant twist. Medium weight, perhaps a little warm on the finish, about medium length. Not hugely complex, but attractive in the shorter term.

Luscious dark fruits, mint, a little “twig or stick”, tar & some chocolate too. It’s a heavy wine that needs food and probably time too. I would say 5+ years. ANNOYINGLY I thought I had a 2nd btl in the cellar so was tasting 1 and planning to age the other. Turns out I was wrong #fail

As before, although the green and capsicum really hits you, in typical Leconfield style. Don't their grapes ever see any sunshine?
