Store SmageDag (Wine in Vein): Our host thought this was past its peak, and that the champignons took over. I only half-agree - there's definitely a lot of signs of aging (which feels early for this wine?), but it's nicely layered, and the primary fruit is still noticeable. I quite enjoyed this wine, but it's probably time to drink up.

Still mirrors my previous note on this one, give this air in advance is my clear recommandation. Starts out muted, perhaps a tad dominated by oak but this blows off quickly with air and the wine goes into balance. Elegant, not too complex, ok length. Fruit a bit more developed than a year ago.

JT and Marty Super Bowl Extravaganza (Chez Newman): This was delicious; just pure pleasure in a classic Chambolle package; ripe red fruits, some mineral and floral notes, a bit of orange zest; still quite primary, but so fun and tasty to drink it disappears quickly!

Kind of mirror my previous note on the wine, although 2 years ago, but the palate stands out as better than the nose for me. Nose almost a bit shy, I should perhaps have given it more air, but the palate was showing light red fruit, great balance, ok length.

Tasted the 2008 (92pt) and 2009 (90pt) side by side. The 2008 had the edge tonight. It was more precise and crisp without being lean as some of the 2008 are. Overall the wines were nice and elegant with red fruit and some spices dominating but there was no wow Burg factor for sure.
