  • Found this in the bottom of the cellar. Perfect fill and cork. Medium red, perhaps a touch of browning, but darker than I would have thought. Lovely Chambolle nose of sous-bois, red fruits and lovely satiny texture on the palate; no fall off in the finish which echoes the above. This is quite mature but in no danger of going over a cliff, although I wouldn't hold longer than 2-3 years. What a lovely surprise for a lieux-dit, it must be a blend of old vines from some of Bertheau's holdings.

  • Beautiful chambolle nose: strawberry, earth, a hint of secondary development (sous-bois thing). Purity, focus. Plenty of matiere on the mid-palate, the acidity still quite marked, also on the finish, but then this is still young. A very pretty chambolle-strawberry flavour runs through the whole thing. Stood up very well to a steak with fennel and parmesan. Delicious.
