Call it blind luck, but this has held up remarkably well. After 20-30 minutes to open up (in the bottle, not decanted), the initial funk was gone. Great dark garnet color with healthy tannins. Still quite structured with a long finish. Very pleasantly surprised.

Holding up well, but it took awhile for the funky nose to blow off. Nicely made; still a bit tannic in the finish, but the Ciel du cheval, red mountian and Hedges vineyard fruit still comes through quite nicely.

Definitely past prime ... but still a full, mellow taste
