Nose - red fruit, strawberry, cherry pomegranate. Medium acidity hitting the tongue and expressing into component fruits with medium sweetness emerging mid palate. Cinnamon, citrus peel, pepper and oak sweeping up the back.
This is a nice easy drinking blend, with the pepper intensity of red mountain and a little sweetness.

Last vintage of this I tried was the 2018. This vintage isn't quite as stunning a value buy right now, but it's still delicious, especially for the pretty common $20 or so price at total wine and Costco. The first day it was a little clammed up, mostly smelled like dill (the American oak doing its work) with only hints of dark fruit. Day two, it opened up quite a bit, with a slight cedar/vanilla tone added to the oak and much clearer fruit, sort of a subtle very very black plum compote vibe with only a hint of smoke (not smoke taint, just a sort of slightly ashy accent.) The palate is a bit brighter than the nose suggests- sort of a fresher blackberry and raspberry thing with some notable acidic kick. Tannins are nicely dialed in, present but fine-grained. It loses a little oomph on the finish, but I like the freshness of it. Very enjoyable, give it a few years (it'll easily improve!) or maybe a decant.

Pretty heavy on the oak, and medium-low tannins. But on net, very drinkable and great value on sale at Costco

Dark, black and full fruit, with some cinnamon spice showing around the edges.

Always love the nose - smells like WA cab in American oak. And like the palate as well.
