(Brunner w Ads, Geoff, Just & Haze) An impressive dark garnet, with an amazingly generous perfume - barnyard pong, dark plums, rich raspberry, black cherries, smoke, and redolent wet forest floor. The taste is impressively focused and concentrated, richly velvet textured, showing some muddy gamey-ness, along with juicy dark plums and tobacco leaf, edging on spice and simply black earth. Funky socks. Classy and most burgundian to my mind. Went well with Geoff's duck, and played off the camembert, rocquefort and cheddars with great ease. More than a food wine, this drop required some serious regard. Drinking very well now.

(Tasting at Ashton Hills) Similar in profile to the Picadilly Valley, with a richer perfume on the nose, and a deeper taste, with leather, cocoa and loamy earth, along with pepper and spice - almost textural and chewy. Open already, and drinking well.

Medium red in colour, spicy, tarry cherry and understated cloves leave a great first impression on the nose, the palate continues the spice theme where it is combined with plum and dark cherry. The finish is savory, with just enough fruit that lingers in the mouth, a good cellaring prospect. Review Link - www.winereviewer.com.au (drink from 2015-2020)

Exceptional. Mature yet could still benefit from further cellaring.
