Strong pyrazines at first, but after two hours it opened, a round wine with dark fruits, cocoa, earthy tones. Acidity kept it in balance, with a M+ finish.

Palate: Exceptionally round and rich. A touch of acid that makes the mouth want more. Dark fruits, tabocco, prunes. Has smooth fruit elements that are reminiscent of a Washington State wine, with all the complexity and depth of a Bordeaux.
Body: Medium to full. Nice bold tannins.
Finish: Lingering, but a bit acidic.
Needs 2 hours at least to open up. CRAZY AMOUNT OF SEDIMENT.
Love this wine.
Unfined and unfiltered. 100% Merlot Pomerol

Double decanted w/microfilter, started out a bit reticent but nose eventually expanded to reveal cigar box, forest floor, dank cellar, and hints of dark berries. Still showing tannic structure and strong tertiary characteristics, have to believe fruit has started to fade on the palate as we were left wanting more fruity acidity w/food. Perhaps bottle variation, but doubt it will improve, probably want to respect the drinking window and consume sooner than later.

From magnum. Dbl decant; open for business w/in 1.5 hrs. Dark ruby color, quite mature. A hint of heat on the nose, along with bright black fruit and violets. On the palate: ripe fine tannin in great balance with the fruits, some leathery notes along with mellowed vanilla. Solid without being too dense. Delicious.

(Château La Fleur de Boüard) Very dark red violet color; toasty, roast coffee, cedar nose; roasted coffee, toasty, olive, tart plum palate; medium-plus finish 90+ points
(Château La Fleur de Boüard) Espresso and mocha nose; tasty, with velvety mouth feel palate of rich cassis and leather; medium finish (The Bouards purchased Fleur de Bouard, formerly La Fleur de Saint George, in 1998. It is planted largely to Merlot and Cab Franc, with a small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon.)
