would not have guessed this was a Chablis. Oaky, buttery fruit more reminiscent of a more southern burgundy. Obviously a good big wine made to last, but prefer a cleaner cut Chablis with more precision and minerality. Will keep to see how it develops.

Lacked the minerality and taut acidity that I like in a Chablis. Quite a big, oaky wine. Undoubtedly built to age longer and might be more interesting in a few years.

Today, a sweetish Chardonnay nose with notes of lanolin and lychee. Palate is tart but has enough roundness to make it to make it on the side of refreshing rather than bracing but still a food wine. Hold remaining bottles. 90-91

Pop and pour - note after 2 hours. Wet stone, stone fruit and citrus on the nose. Grapefruit, citrus with a hint of oak. Drink now.
