  • bottle that I had just collected from a Carousell buy... had been quite obvious when collecting the bottle, that the colour seem somewhat off, and there were quite some sediments... cork was very loose and dropped into the wine when attempting to open - quite obviously dried up and shrunk due to less than perfect storage conditions in previous ownerships; colour was medium amber, nose was really pronounced though with lots of toffee and honey, and upon tasting, very reminiscent of Amontillado sherry, with lots of biscuits and nuts... still tasted a bit of brine and shells of the Chablis, but no more fruits; in a way interesting, but a pity that it's hardly characteristic anymore; stored the rest of the bottle into single-serve vials, for "educational" purposes with my friends :p

  • Over-ripe tone of wax and oxidation and overcooked vegetables and mushrooms. Taste is DRY (!) with high acid and full body. Over-ripe apple, could work with cheese, but not really my cup of tea!
