  • Absolutely delicious. Perfect blend of fruit (apple, pear) with gracefully barrel aging. Structure was superb.

  • Another excellent bottle of this. On the nose, a tarry note competes with fruits (peach) and a sweet floral note. With time in the glass, the tar note fades. On the palate, resolved but youthful, with no overt signs of oxidation. Interesting hint of stems/green serves to add complexity rather than distract. Stlll some acidity, but not "bracing" as it might have been on release. Medium long finish. I think I need to remove the remaining two bottles from the "cheap, everyday" pile, as this consistently outperforms its price point. Excellent auction pickup @$26.

  • A deep impression on the nose with smooth buttery tarry wood impression providing the backbone with good fruit concentration wrapping around it. On the palate, smooth with acidity starting to resolve. With the exception of the resolved acidity, this give an overall impression of youth.

  • This is really starting to develop nicely. Still a bit sharp and closed on the pop/pour. Notes after an hour in the glass - creamy and tart on the nose, with early signs of some secondary development. More of the same on the palate, with a bit of an acidic tang still present along with a nice level of oak accents (relatively subtle) adding some complexity.

  • Nice wine. Part of the Thanksgiving meal. Paired well. Nice fruit and stone flavors. Not much oak at this time. Nice acidity.

(Bernard Morey et Fils Chassagne Montrachet Morgeot Premier Cru) #2; COLOR-medium golden; NOSE-love the crushed rock with a hint of butter; great minerality; apple and pear; and peach fuzz; PALATE-great acid; a little nutty almond on the back-end; also very clean on the finish; it tastes ocean to me (minerality and saltiness); it balanced, but aggressive on the finish with a little greenness; elegant (some would mistake this elegance thru age with being a little thin); a wonderful example; GV-90/91
