  • Disappointing. If you own a bottle, decant and drink now. This villages wine from a fine producer who has elevated its wines greatly in the past decade, is not showing fruit or corps sufficiently. Even after decanting and development in the glass, primary acids overshadowed the somewhat typical Chambolle elegant fruit that threatened to emerge but never really did. A beautiful pale red/amber color suggested a different wine. The nose did not evolve and the wine ,while not bad, was nothing like its origins should have provided.

  • This is the first Cathiard burgundy I have tasted in a while – too bad. Though prodigiously priced for a village wine from an uneven at best vintage, it is delicious. Gorgeous purity and elegance on the nose (and this is an '03). Silky fruit and palate sensation - stays impactful thought out. Lacking a bit of complexity and grip but a very enjoyable experience. I would not save for another week - can't see it getting any better. I will seek out more of his wines. (89)

  • A little thin and soft but nice earthy gamey red fruits, not overripe. Nice wine but not outstanding, I'd happily drink it again, very elegant and balanced.
