From magnum with great color. As is so often the case, this wine didn't show much until after 3+ hours of air. Prior to that it was crisp but relatively unyielding. Afterward, I got nice notes of lemon, honey, and white stone.
This had lovely balance in the mouth with great acidity and length. It also had an excellent stoney character in the mid-palate and the finish.
This was a nice bottle in peak form. Drink over the next 5-10 years.

Nice colour showing signs of age with a tinge of orange. Intriguing and inviting nose of orange peel, old pecans and burnt caramel. With some air it also reminds me of butterscotch candy. On the palate, the attack is smooth with some weight on the midpalate. Flavours of salted caramel, pecans and browned apples. Slightly bitter on the finale which gives it some personality. Had it with cheeses which slightly overpowered it, but by its own it was good experience and a nice bottle.

La Paulée de Los Angeles Gala Dinner (The Fairmont - Santa Monica CA): Small glass. Magnum from the domaine. Rich and fat but with so much energy and freshness. Very good length. Wonderful.
