Rousseau dinner at Jade Palace: Generous extra but unfortunately not ready for primetime. Didn't like the distracting vanilla and nutty notes, but had an impressive weight and structure. Just needs more time to integrate the oak.

IPNC Weekend 2023; 7/26/2023-7/31/2023: Light gold color. Drank a glass over 45 minutes at Le Pigeon in Portland. Showing nicely with stone, tarragon, lemon oil, lemon peel, creme brulee and butter brickle on the nose. The palate is full bodied and layered with green apple, buttered pastry, Anjou pear, gun metal and stone, lemon oil, custard, spice and lemon peel on the finish. Showing very well already. 93(+)pts.

Sedge and I loved this, Tiff thought it had a hint of caramel (which is her ID for richness, not enough acidity, oxidation in some cases - I don't think that was what she tasted here, and/or tropical fruit... none of which she likes)... the 93 is for Sedge and my grade... Tiff would have given it a 91 or so I think - mostly due to her personal prefs

Riffing on drwine2001, while this is "not profound", it's perfectly pleasurable.
