  • Bottom neck fill.
Cork in decent condition. Not decanted.
The hue is fairly light but compatible with age.
The aromatics are well defined and elegant.
Still some fruit but the earthy and spicy elements dominate.
Lively acidity, still some tannin but overall very soft texture.
on a plateau now. How you appreciate it will largely depend on your expectations.

  • Bottom neck fill.
    Decanted just before dinner.
Light bodied Pomerol with a nice balance, very elegant. A slight herbal character along with straw and earthy components; almost Burgundy like in its texture.
    Drink soon.

  • First of 10 bottles.
Opened with no decanting. Top neck fill and cork came out in fairly good condition.
Hue appropriate for age of wine (41 years) with some amber and lightning of color.
Quite subtle and evolved nose but at the same time very fresh, complex and pleasant. Combination of remnants of fruit, undeniable herbal scent, spices as well as earthy characteristics. Very light body with noticeable acidic lift but all in harmony. Very elegant wine that would surely be poorly received today. Very modest alcohol and not much buffer against oxidation yet still holding it all together effortlessly...No tannins remaining, which is peculiar for this vintage. Should continue to drink nicely for another 3-5 years

  • Surprised how well this is still doing. Still very much alive. Drank from magnum.
