Bordeaux February 2024 Out of magnum, funny enough it need a decant, perfect fill and came around 30-45 later, just brillant drinking and not a 'dry' 1983, this one had so much Pomerol texture and was a classy wine ! I would drink these now, and guess that in bottles it might be less fun ! Drink 2024-2028

A nice little score. Got three of these for ~ $35/bottle just a couple of years ago. The fills are great. The cork was crumbly and just managed to get it out OK with an ah-so type puller. Good dark color with medium depth. Bouquet is mild with a touch of mint and cinnamon and some wet earth. Good sweetness in the palate, good depth and density, and just some pliant structure with no prickly tannin. Good acidity, nothing out of joint. Very composed. Really nice aged claret from a somewhat (at least at the time) overlooked vintage. Should hold for a few years but this is right on point now.

lasted about 30 minutes from opening to the fruit fading. a riper vintage with soft fruit that at least for those few minutes was ripe and on point. enjoyable but drink up now

Just barely drinkable. Started out with lots of volatile acidity, which mellowed out after 30 minutes. Still, the nose was quite funky and off-putting, showing strawberry, raspberry, mushroom, tomato, and wet leaves. Got weirder with time. On the palate were tart and similarly strange flavors. Couldn't finish the bottle. Hope my other bottle is better than this one.
