“There are no great wines, just great bottles.” How true. After a few disappointing bottles of this wine, tonight we had a real winner. Sublime, in fact. While the color was golden, the wine was as fresh and vibrant as could be. There were notes of unbuttered popcorn and lime leaves. Wonderful depth and intensity – the wine just went on and one. Not a Grand Cru, but you would never know it based on this bottle. A great Chablis. (95)

Quite a surprise. This was excellent and a very complex wine. I might have guessed that this was Puligny blind. Very elegant, but great supporting structure. Great now, but no hurry. Much better than the 2001, but maybe it just needs time...

Does not have the star power that it had from my prior TN. But shows similar quince, grapefruit, with initial sour fruit that after 30 minutes shows more white grapefruit, hint of sweet butter, assertive acidity. Paired well with scallops.

Tasted in a flight with two other Raveneau chablis. This wine stood out. Quince and grapefruit on nose and palate. Outstanding purity, depth, acidity, and length.
