  • La Paulée de New York Gala Dinner (Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers - New York NY): Small La Paulee pour. So classically Vosne with a floral and spiced start, dancing red fruits everywhere and good concentration and length, with better depth.

  • PNP into Spiegelau Burgundy glass (“Leaf” day): Pale ruby with garnet, slightly bricking rims.

Again, O.M.G. just on the nose - have I ever sniffed any wine or anything that is this amazing?

Consistent with first and second bottles tasted. Superbly complex and wonderfully integrated at this stage per concluded from previous tastings.

Really a super long finish with all the incredibly complex organic blackberries, dark red cherries which last a lifetime on palate. Just wow.

    96-97 points.

  • 12% ABV. 540 bottles and 26 magnums made. PNP into Spiegelau Burgundy glass (“Fruit” day): Pale garnet to the eyes.

Bramble berries, red and black cherry fruits here. Dried florals. A little savory white spice, chocolate and hints of for the pencil shavings for the first glass.

Detectably more textured tannins for this bottle which again reinforced the image of bottle variations due to bottling by barrel practice here.

95-96 points of this showing. Will one ever grow tired of this wine?

Second pour, 15 mins in, 3/4 left: more vibrancy and also slight petillance on palate here. Richer fruit profile to support the ample stuffing here.

Third pour, 30 mins in, 3/5 left: even some eggwhite like reduction here. Still more about red, cherry fruits here in my view compared to the other two bottles tasted just a day or two before. Very good intellectual study of his bottles indeed. Interesting to note that the after taste / finish for this wine really reminds me of fresh eaten cherries!

Fourth pour, 40 mins in, 1/2 left: largely consistent with previous pour.

Fifth pour, 1 hour in, 1/5 left: getting better in terms of integration! More of the signature organic luxurious blackberry fruits that is so authentic, and clearly defined signature of this producer now. Think this is more 96 points now! A bottle of opulence for me now.

Last pours: shared with the rest of the great team behind this! Well deserved.

  • PNP into Spiegelau Burgundy glass (“Fruit” day): Pale ruby with garnet hues to the eyes. Fine deposits.

More “traditional” Vosne spices for this showing here. Regal and deep that draws you in rather than all out attack per tasted yesterday. Woody and jasmine florals now. Very aromatic and incredibly well integrated and complex.

Never a single doubt on the quality here. Amazing freshness, bright acidity well supported by ample underlying materials. Authentic and finish as long as one can imagine.

Superb wine and seems quite consistent too. Easily 96-97 points for me. Consistent notes.

  • PNP into Spiegelau Burgundy glass (“Leaf” day): Pale ruby with garnet to the eyes with deposits.

Simply mind-boggling level of zen-like harmony and complexity on nose and palate.

The perfume is focused on darker red and black organic bramble fruits, wild berries, signature angelica root and sandalwood. Incense like smoke too. Burdock, sous bois in the best possible way. Cherry cola in the most exquisite way. Incredible integration.

So much dry extract and stuffing in this wine but also incredibly lightfooted. Silkily textured. The finish is almost endless. Tannin texture is just about right with the high level of extraction of this bottle.

O.M.G.! Simply one of the very best experience from this producer to date. 96 points.

30 mins in, half bottle left: getting darker and darker in terms of fruit profile. More opulent and very nicely powerful.

45 mins in, 1/4 left: more soy notes that adds even more to its complexity. Wow and again proves how much evolution during drinking window this can do.

1 hour in, 1/5 left: pure bliss and euphoria at this point. Wow. This is getting back to more red berry fruits and all about finesse and elegance. This may as well be my first 97 points wine?
