Burgundian styled Chardonnay. Good nose with yellow fruit, honey and a little resin. The oak is nicely integrated. Maybe lacking a littel acid at this point, but at good experience

Made in what seems to be a slightly oxidized style, this is forceful and full with prominent notes of oak. Very little fruit, particularly on the palate.

i am tempted to refrain from saying bad things about this wine since i have respect for the house of antinori. it is also difficult to dispute the glowing spectator review. i do note, however, that other recent vintages of this wine have earned the tre bicchieri award whereas this vintage did not. the golden color suggests that this wine has either suffered some heat and/or may have been kept too long and has begun to become oxidized. traditional chardonay flavors are not prominent. the minerality seems to have taken over. i don't experience the long finish mentioned in spectator review. it does offer an exotic taste experience. will probably not return to this vintage. will look for more current release. i am thinking of advising retailer to take remaining inventory off the shelf or mark it down to cost.
