Nice spicy nose with hints of balsamic and tar. The palate was initially dominated by sweet plum but that quickly shifted to a more austere and typical blend of roses, clove and dried cherry as the wine was exposed to air. The nose is beguiling but I feel the palate needs more time to fully develop, and there seems to be enough tannin and acidity to carry this well into the future. An excellent wine with serious upside potential.

Ether and roses on the nose. On the palate, cranberry, currant, and notes of rose petal, tar, and something green on the medium to long finish - my wife says gooseberry, but I find it more herbal. This shows moderate tannins and moderate acidity, and it was a very good value at about $50. It's probably early in its drinking window, although it's not clear how long the tannins will carry this.

Slightly tart red cherries, fresh and minerally, but quite firm and tight. Might still need a few more years to reach the peak window.

A bit reticent at first, but after twenty minutes tannins receded behind a sweet sense of strawberry, dried cherries and a hint of mint. Drank easily.
