Medium ruby. Tight but distinct nebbiolo nose of roses and cherry with musty tar in the background. While most of the tannin has resolved, the feel is that the wine once had a bit of a harsh tannic structure. Not as nuanced as hoped, but rather a bit direct in the presentation of cherry, strawberry and red fruits with less of the tobaccco, tar and truffles than expected. Certainly fine, but I was expecting more.

Classic Barolo right from the gate with strong scents of tar and a tannic, tarry rosewater palate. That's some thick skin it's wearing right now so it really demands food to taste civilized.

Classic and proper but far from profound. In a nice place in its aging curve.

Chanoch hosts the wine-buddies (Yulia, TLV port): transparent red-brownish Barolo color; classic typical great vintage cru Barolo, impressive very good aroma (though not outstanding) of leather, mushrooms, earth, spices, meat & animals. Silky tannins, smooth, well balanced, full-bodied, rich and enjoyable.
