Not sure what to expect with this given Aussie Pinot is not exactly my forte but it was certainly interesting. Extremely light color, certainly lightest red wine I might have ever seen younger than 10yrs. Very nice notes on the nose, a lot of floral scents, cedar, sandalwood with just a bit of red fruit lurking in the background. Had a slight bite of acidity which was pleasing but tannins pretty much absent. Short on the finish, again, with the fruit and secondary elements not very present. A good wine though. Was sold to me by a wine merchant in Melbourne as "one of the best the country has to offer" - I wouldn't say that, but glad I tried it. Very rarely imported in North America.

Not to everyones' taste. I'm starting to like these wines. This is my pick of the 2011s. Great wine for (maybe due to) the vintage. Very interesting and quite enjoyable, if a little challenging for some (including me!)

A delicate nose. Raspberry, a little woody as well. Red fleshy fruit, vanilla tannin. Love wine, not sure it's great value for money though. Didn't blow me away.

William Downie Dinner (Sydney, Australia): Interesting nose of vanilla, iron and graphite. Palate has nice texture and good length. The balance is there as well and it has potential to improve over the medium term.
