  • Very interesting Meritage-style blend of 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and greek autochthonal grape variety Limnio which is mainly being grown on the volcanic soils around Mount Athos on the island of Lemnos, where also this wine derives from. Dark ruby in colour, pitch black core and with red-brown overtones. After 90 minutes of decanting it offers an earthy nose with notes of wet leaves and ash plus lots of laurel and rosemary accompanied by amarena cherries. In the mouth good texture, medium-bodied, dry but with a well-balanced and mouth-watering acidity. Precise black cherry fruit, minerality, herbs and spices as well as present but well integrated tannins. Lingering finish composed of more black cherries, minerality and a nice note of almonds/crushed cherry stones (a little prussic acid action going on here if you what I mean) and orange zest. Overall a very well-balanced and enjoyable wine that really shows the potential of the Limnio grape in combination with the international grape varieties. For some this may feel a bit rustic, but I will definitely be looking for more of this variety and this grape combination. Expand your palate people, give this one a try.

  • Look: ruby red with brownish hues. Thick. Nose: paprika, tight and earthy, ashes, animalic touch like smoked meat. Taste: clear tannins, cassis. The Cabernet shows through though it's less than 30%. An elegant and interesting wine.

  • Medium deepth of ruby color fading to a purple on the rim. Medium intensity of clean and savoury aromas on the nose together with spicy red fruit and a whiff of leather and bay leaves. Palate is medium to full, with lean fluid texture, quite flavourful and dry with lean fruit, some Cabernet herbaceousness and slight peppery and leathery notes. Tannins are very well managed, acidity is quite high and finish is remarkably good. Food friendly wine with cleansing acidity. Made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Limnio and Xinomavro. Could age for five years at least.
