13th Cellier Wine Fair (Hilton Athenaum Hotel): Very thick dense core of ripe red and black fruit, the palate copies the density of the nose, ripe black fruit, figs, still very tight, med to full body, balancing acidity but you can seet this still needs time in a decanter. When in a good day, this still is one of the finest Greek reds 89+

Much better than the 2003, this has the character that has made Metochi one of my favorite Greek reds. Dark ruby color. Intense cedar, green pepper, cherry and herbs on the nose. Medium-bodied with bright fruit, firm tannins, high acidity and a long, spicy aftertaste. Long life ahead. 2004 must have been a dream vintage for Macedonian cabernet sauvignon, since this vintage has overperformed most other recent vintages in verticals of this regions top cabernet-dominated wines, such as K. Lazaridis Cava Amethystos, Nico Lazaridis Magiko Vouno and Tasntali Metochi (cabernet sauvignon and Limnio).

Limnio is becoming one of my favourite greek variety. This was medium ruby in appearance with cherries and plum on the nose and palate medium - high acidity and medium long on the finish. Very good.

Reminds me of cherry coke with herbal undertones. Soft tannins and smooth finish. Probably one of the better Greek wines tasted to date.
