Really enjoyed this wine on christmas with a rib roast and roasted potatoes. Quite good balance and dark fruit. Highly recommend. From fidelitas: The Optu Red is the signature red blend Coming from one of our favorite vintages, the 2009 is deep and rich; nearly opaque in color. The nose offers baked red fruits and a beautiful earthiness. On the palate, the fruit tones are vibrant, showing raspberry and dark cherry, backed by notes of dried herbs and cedar. The mouth is plush with present tannins and a lasting finish. Drink now through 2022.

Pop n pour. Good nose, smells fresh. Cherry, blue fruit and graphite on the palate, tastes good if a bit thin with oak taking over on the finish. Wish this would last longer, but think its time has passed, though still very enjoyable.

Dark purple color with blackberry, cedar and pencil lead on the nose. Blueberry and blackberry with graphite and bakers chocolate on the finish. Not complicated, but good. Wine is totally smoothed out, drink without decanting, or it starts to get a little chalky. Definitely starting to go past prime. DRINK NOW.

Eh. Not really doing it for me. Dark nose, with graphite, cedar, black fruit and a touch of bitter herbs. On the palate, a bit flabby and simple; kind of washed out black fruit, with some woody bitterness. Soft tannin on the finish, which leans slightly bitter.

Not our favorite vintage of this blend, which has been a fav for quite a while. Fruit flavors are muddled, rather than precise. S says flabby, but that seems kinda severe.
