Bought this years ago and decided tonight it might have enough age to be drinking nicely. Surprisingly youthful. Nose is showing strong espresso and bitter dark coco notes. Palate is almost to where I want it, the dark toasty oak is almost integrated. This would see it's 20th birthday easily in my opinion. There is still a lot of oak on this wine and it still shows prominently but the fruit is under there and I think will emerge in another 5 years or so. Right now there's lots of espresso, bitter dark chocolate and some hints of dark, ripe fruit under that. Finish is long and still toasty. I do wish I had another. I'd like to see what it ultimately evolves into.
